The Queen Sacrifice is a celebration of Chess on the World Chess Day. On the Sunday succeeding the International Chess Day, Chennai Chess Club conducted a lavish Casual Chess Tournament inside VR Chennai, Anna Nagar for over 100 chess enthusiasts. The event was moderated by members of Chennai Chess Club and official arbiters. It has participants aged from 5 years old to 67 years old and from all over Chennai, nearby districts and even other states.
Amazing prizes were distributed to the winners, including some based on the age category.
The event was felicitated by GM Shyam Sundar. He was gracious enough to do a 20-person simultaneous event after the main tournament.
